There are some vocal critics about Zborovskiy and his ultimate potential. Some believe that he does not (and will not) possess the ability to play in the NHL. A word that has been frequently used to describe the 19 year old’s game in prospect analysis is “raw”.
I spoke to a Western Canadian scout recently who said he sees no NHL potential in Zborovskiy. I don't understand NYR's fascination with him.

Zborovskiy stands at 6’4”. Something tells me that the Rangers are hoping the Moscow-born blueliner will be something special when he adds more muscle to his frame.
His point production with the Regina Pats has been rather underwhelming. All signs point to the big Russian being a “stay at home” defenseman with modest puck skills. Supposedly Zborovskiy has a big shot that comes with that big frame.
