Michael Grabner named NHL’s first star of the week
He got a hat trick against Columbus!
Michael Grabner’s bye week is kicking off on a really high note.
Not only did he score the winning goal over the Columbus Blue Jackets with just seconds to go, but there’s been a scoring change, and one of Adam Clendening’s goals went to Grabner.
That’s right, Grabner got a hat trick - the fourth of his career - to help the Rangers defeat the Jackets 5-4 before they took off for their five-day break.

At least it was an away game, so he didn’t miss out on any hats being thrown.
Grabner has also been named the NHL’s first star of the week.
With five goals now, plus two assists for seven points, nobody scored more than Grabner did this past week. His seven points came in just two games: two goals and an assist in a 5-2 win over the Flyers, followed up with three goals and an assist in the aforementioned 5-4 Blue Jackets win.
Grabner is on vacation now, but hopefully this has made it even brighter!
