Henrik Lundqvist And Rick Nash Injured, Will Miss Tonight’s Game

Well, how’s that for a little Thursday morning bad news?

OFFICIAL: #NYR Rick Nash (upper body day-to-day) is out tonight. Henrik Lundqvist (lower body day-to-day) is out tonight.

Lundqvist and Nash will miss tonight’s matchup due to day-to-day injuries. Remember, Alain Vigneault says all injuries are day-to-day, so who knows the real severity here. Although I do think it’s fair to assume he’s telling the truth here since both player played and showed no ill signs against Florida.

The Rangers have re-called Brandon Halverson from the AHL to be the emergency backup for Lundqvist, and this probably gives Matt Puempel another kick at the can tonight.

Antti Rannta will fill in for Lundqvist, so no real worries there.
