Lundqvist and Lindberg face Finland in Semifinals
Finland is the only thing that stands between two New York Rangers and a gold medal game at the 2017 World Championships.
Oscar Lindberg and Henrik Lundqvist joined Team Sweden after the Rangers were eliminated from the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Thus far the Swedes have appeared in three games for their home country.
Since joining Sweden on the other side of the Atlantic Lundqvist is undefeated and has a .921 save percentage. He recently earned honors as Sweden’s player of the game for a 26-save performance against Switzerland.

Lindberg has two assists in three games playing in a scoring role for Sweden on a line with Nicklas Backstrom and William Nylander. He picked up a primary assist in Sweden’s Quarterfinal 3-1 victory over Switzerland.
Heading into the Semifinals Sweden is 6-1-1 including preliminary games. Sweden’s defeats came at the hands of Team Russia and Team USA. Sweden has yet to meet Finland at the Worlds.
Finland is 5-2-1 including preliminary play. Two of Finland’s victories have come in extra time. The Finns are meeting the Swedes in the Semifinals thanks to the team’s surprising 2-0 victory over Brady Skjei, Kevin Hayes and Team USA in the Quarterfinals.
The puck drops on Sweden vs Finland at 1:15pm today. Coverage begins on NHL Network at 1:00pm. The game is live-streamed on YouTube, but is geo-blocked for North American audiences.
