Rangers Draft Raoul Boilard 119th Overall

As we all await some bigger fireworks – in particular, a potential Jacob Trouba trade – the Rangers completed a smaller transaction during the fourth round of the NHL Draft today.

They moved up from pick no. 127 to no. 119, dealing a 2026 seventh-round pick to the Nashville Predators to do so. With the pick, they selected center Raoul Boilard from Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the QMJHL.

Boilard compiled 22 goals and 40 assists in 68 games for Baie-Comeau Drakkar this past season, and another 4-4-8 in 17 playoff games. As a mid-round pick, the Rangers are clearly addressing a position of need with a player who has an interesting two-way skillset.

The Rangers obviously believe in his potential, as they traded up to get him. If he pans out fully, he could become an effective bottom-six center at the NHL level.
