2012 NHL Playoffs: Daniel Alfredsson Returns To Senators Lineup; Hagelin Returns
Andrew Gross of The Record (N.J.) confirms that Ottawa Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson will be making his return to the lineup tonight. Alfredsson has missed the last three games of the series due to a concussion which was a result of an elbow to the head from Carl Hagelin.
However, even with Alfredsson out of the lineup, the Senators have still found ways to provide offense from other areas of their team. Now that he's back, it's nothing but an improvement up front for the Senators. On the other side, Carl Hagelin will be back in the lineup tonight after serving his three game suspension.
The Rangers need some offensive spark, and Hagelin can provide just that. He was the one player that helped the Rangers line of Marian Gaborik, and Brad Richards thrive throughout the season. He has the ability to get into the zone, retrieve the loose pucks, and allow the Rangers to gain puck possession down deep.
Hopefully Hagelin can provide that spark for the Rangers tonight, because they are in desperate need of it.
