Filip Chytil signs ELC with Rangers
It appears that general managerJeff Gorton isn’t wasting much time.
Today the New York Rangers have signed 2017 first round pick Filip Chytil to an entry-level contract. Yesterday the Rangers inked seventh overall pick Lias Andersson to his ELC. Chytil was the 21st pick of the first round.

Chytil will be 18-years-old in September, so it’s highly unlikely that he’ll be playing in the NHL next season. He played in the Czech League last year with HC Zlin, scoring four goals and adding four assists in 38 games.
Excited to sign my first NHL contract with @nyrangers 🗽 I would like to thank my family, agents,… https://t.co/WAFbFALxNZ

Last month Chytil was selected in the CHL import draft by North Bay (OHL). But there’s almost no chance he’ll be playing north of the border next season. All signs point to Chytil returning to the Czech League or playing in the AHL with the Wolf Pack.
