The list is of course headlined by top prospects Filip Chytil and Lias Andersson, while Brett Howden, Libor Hajek, and Joey Keane highlight the list of players making their “debuts” in Ranger uniforms.
Notable free agent invites are Jeremy Brodeur, the son of former Devils’ goaltender Martin Brodeur, and Drew Melanson, who played for Rangers Head coach David Quinn at Boston University.
The early start of the European hockey season means that prospects based across the Atlantic do not participate in this tournament, while NCAA eligibility rules do not allow for college players to participate unless they are paying their own way. As such, the Rangers will be without a number of notable prospects including Nils Lundkvist, K’Andre Miller, and Igor Shestyorkin.
The Traverse City Tournament begins September 7th and concludes on the 11th.
