Henriksson, a playmaking center, played 45 games with Frölunda HC J20 in the SuperElit league this past season, along with two games with Frölunda in the SHL. Scouts have noted his abilities in all three zones and his puck possession skills.
And true to form from last year, the @NYRangers go with a Swede and pick up WJC U18 standout Karl Henriksson. https://t.co/1n1q4Jq4Q4 pic.twitter.com/L8OkkISBxY

The only question about his production is how much it was influenced by his frequent linemate in Frölunda, Lucas Raymond, who is projected to be a top pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.
Very interesting pick by NYR at 58, taking center Karl Henriksson. His numbers in Swedish juniors were extremely good, but the caveat is that his linemate is likely 2020 top-three pick Lucas Raymond.

Great passing center, but how much was Raymond driving that line?
With their earlier second round pick (49th overall), the Rangers were able to add size with the selection of defenseman Matthew Roberston. Henriksson, on the other hand, is undersized at 5-foot-9, but is known for his speed and skill.
