Rangers vs Hurricanes: Rangers Make It Three in A Row With 3-2 Win
The New York Rangers have their first official three-game win streak of the season after defeating the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 at Madison Square Garden. Mika Zibanejad made his return after missing nearly a month of playing time with an upper-body injury and added a goal just 2:54 into the game. Henrik Lundqvist had a pretty heavy work load during the second half of this game and turned away 41 of 43 shots after Carolina turned it up a notch.

It didn’t take very long for Mika Zibanejad to get acclimated again to game action and he picked up his fifth of the season. Adam Fox created the entire play with ridiculous patience and put the puck right on Zibanejad’s tape at the far post. Mika didn’t have to do much aside from hitting the net and he slammed home the early goal for the Rangers.
Brendan Smith (2) - Ryan Lindgren (5) & Tony DeAngelo (11) - 4:12 1st Period
A little over a minute after Zibanejad’s opening goal, Brendan Smith appeared to surprise Petr Mrazek with a slap shot from just inside the blue line. Smith wound up rotating back to the point with Tony DeAngelo deep in the zone, and Ryan Lindgren set him up with a nice little tap pass. Smith’s slap shot beat Mrazek clean to the left his pad and gave the Rangers the early 2-0 lead.
Adam Fox (4) - Artemiy Panarin (20) & Libor Hajek (5) - 18:20 1st Period

Totally kidding. But he's building on a great rookie season and has two points tonight. Another multi-point game for Artemiy Panarin #NYR pic.twitter.com/t2ezMepq5n
With a little under two minutes remaining in the period, Adam Fox continued his revenge against the Hurricanes and picked up his fourth of the season. Fox somehow ended up in front of the net during the chaos, and the puck made its way over to Artemiy Panarin. Panarin quickly released a slap shot from the left faceoff circle and Fox tipped the puck back on Mrazek as it came in on goal.
2nd Period
Ryan Dzingel (5) PPG - Dougie Hamilton (16) & Andrei Svechnikov (17) - 14:29 2nd Period
After controlling most of the first period, the Rangers hit a rough patch during the end of the second period and Carolina took control of the game. The Hurricanes were able to get back within a pair of goals after another too many men call sent the Rangers down by a player. Ryan Dzingel was able to deflect home his fifth of the season about a minute into the power play.
Warren Foegele (4) - Jaccob Slavin (12) - 15:58 2nd Period
A short time after Dzingel’s opening tally, Carolina quickly added another to made it a one goal game at the 15:58 mark of the second period. Warren Foegele capitalized on a loose puck in the crease and slammed home the rebound to make it 3-2. Henrik Lundqvist appeared to argue his case after the puck was knocked loose, but after a short discussion, the goal remained on the board.
New York fell back into a defensive stand during most of the third period, and one final penalty kill was all they needed to seal the game. Following tonight’s victory, the Rangers will have a scheduled off day tomorrow for Thanksgiving before returning to action on Friday afternoon.
