RIP Jim Neilson
The former Rangers defenseman passed away at age 79
Per the NHL Alumni Association, former New York Rangers defenseman Jim Neilson passed away yesterday at the age of 79.
Neilson played 811 games with the Rangers and over 1,000 games in the NHL — he also played for the California Seals and Cleveland Barons. He was a two-time All-Star (1967, 1971) during his tenure with the Rangers and finished his NHL career with 368 points.
The NHL Alumni is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jim Neilson.
