Igor Shesterkin Returns to the Lineup Tonight Against New Jersey
With the New York Rangers sitting just three points out of the final playoff spot prior to tonight’s contest, it appears as if they will be getting healthier in net. Igor Shesterkin, who has been sidelined for the last week and a half, will return to crease for tonight’s game against the New Jersey Devils.

Both Shesterkin and teammate Pavel Buchnevich were involved in a car accident back on February 24 and Shesterkin was diagnosed with a broken rib following the incident. The initial diagnosis had Shesterkin on the shelf for at least two weeks as his injury healed. That timetable, however, was clearly accelerated as Shesterkin’s return is just 12 days after the accident.
In 10 games played this season, Shesterkin has posted an impressive 9-1-0 record to go along with a 2.23 goals against average and a .940 save percentage.
Tonight’s puck drop is scheduled for 7:00pm at Madison Square Garden.
