As per what I’m told ; @NJDevils to name Lindy Ruff as their new Head Coach. Also expected to remove the interim tag from GM Tom Fitzgerald.@NHL @NHLNetwork
A few minutes later, Darren Dreger confirmed Weekes’s report.
One of the stories somewhat overlooked by RTP and CBA business, but as @KevinWeekes reports, Lindy Ruff is the Devils new head coach. https://t.co/waDDXw80qk

Ruff was hired by the Rangers back in 2017 and has served as an assistant coach for the Blueshirts, mainly in charge of the team’s defensive play and penalty kill. The last time Ruff was the main man behind the bench was 2016-17 when he finished his tenure with the Dallas Stars.
This move for Ruff is slated to have a major impact on the Rangers as they are now in the market for a new assistant coach for a defense that was in desperate need of an overhaul.
