2021-22 Rangers schedule released
Get out your calendars, friends.
The NHL has released the New York Rangers regular season schedule for the 2021-22 season.
The Blueshirts home opener is on Oct. 14, 2021, against the Dallas Stars but they will start their season on the road in the nation’s capital against the Washington Capitals on Oct. 13. The Rangers will meet Colin Blackwell and the rest of the NHL’s expansion team, the Seattle Kraken, on Halloween. The Kraken make their first visit to the Garden on Sunday, Jan. 30.
The 2021-22 regular season wraps on April 29, 2022, and will feature a game between the Rangers and Capitals. All game times remain TBD.

Schedule Breakdown
The Metropolitan Division is back to the eight teams it used to have before last season. The Rangers play eight games in October and will begin November with a road trip to western Canada (and Seattle). As it turns out, we’ll be seeing the Rangers in their road whites a lot early in the season — 10 of the Rangers' first 14 games are on the road.

All-Star Action
The All-Star Weekend will be held in Vegas.
The 2022 Honda NHL® All-Star Weekend will take place in Las Vegas, Nev. at the home of the Vegas Golden Knights, T-Mobile Arena on Feb. 4-5. The 2022 Honda NHL® All-Star Weekend will include the 2022 NHL All-Star Skills™ on Friday, Feb. 4, and the 2022 Honda NHL All-Star Game on Saturday, Feb. 5, and will feature various hockey-themed events, entertainment and activities.
Built-in Olympic Break
Interestingly enough, the schedule was released with an Olympic break in mind. If NHL players compete, there will be a pause in the regular season schedule between Feb. 7-22, 2022. If there is no agreement reached to send players to the Olympics and or the pandemic proves to be too big of an obstacle, the NHL’s schedule will be revised.

NHL ASG Weekend: Feb. 4-5
Olympic break: Feb 7-22
No final agreement or decision has been made to this point regarding the possible participation of NHL Players in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Talks remain ongoing. Subject to reaching agreement with the NHL Players’ Association and the International Ice Hockey Federation on all outstanding issues, including appropriate COVID-19 insurance for NHL Players, the League has agreed, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, to pause from Feb. 7-22, 2022 to accommodate NHL Player participation in the Olympic Games. The NHL and the NHL Players’ Association will retain full authority to decide not to participate should COVID-19 conditions worsen or otherwise pose a threat to the health and safety of NHL Players, or for any other reason that may warrant such decision. In the event NHL Players participate in the 2022 Winter Olympics, the NHL regular season will resume on Wednesday, Feb. 23. If, for whatever reason, there is no NHL Player participation in the Olympics, a revised Regular Season schedule will be released which, to the greatest extent possible, will adopt the dates and games reflected in the schedule contemplating Olympic participation.
So, a lot can change with the schedule we have at the moment but we have some key dates and we know when the action starts.
