While there were a variety of dates the Rangers could have chosen for the event, maybe one of the myriad of games against Henrik’s old playoff rivals the Washington Capitals or Pittsburgh Penguins, the Blueshirts decided to hold Henrik’s jersey retirement on a night when they could guarantee that one of Hank’s closest friends from his time on Broadway will be in attendance. January 28th, the Minnesota Wild come to town and with them comes a Norwegian forward that is near and dear to all of us as Mats Zuccarello returns to MSG. It is going to be an emotional night for the Rangers, Henrik Lundqvist, Mats Zuccarello, and all Rangers fans. Just four months to go.
