2024 Eastern Conference Final: New York Rangers vs Florida Panthers Game 3 Open Thread
Following a pair of contests at the world's most famous arena in Manhattan, the Eastern Conference Final has shifted down to the Sunshine State. Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise is the scene for today's matinee between the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers.
With the two teams splitting the opening pair of games in New York, Game 3 will be a pivotal contest as the Rangers look to keep things rolling following their overtime victory in Game 2, and the Panthers attempt to defend home ice and re-take control of the series. While the game is in the southeastern portion of Florida rather than the more western part that Tampa resides in, there should be strong road showing of Blueshirts fans in the stands if New York's playoff trips to Tampa in 2015 and 2022 are any indication of what to expect. Regardless of the fans in the stands, the players on the ice will decide what happens today.
Player to Watch: K'Andre Miller
Arguably New York's best defenseman through the playoffs as of now, Miller's rare blend of size and skating has been a boon for the Rangers in the early goings of this series. Miller has been up to the task of Florida's physicality, excelling at man-on-man coverage and disrupting Florida's offensive flow while helping transport pucks up the ice for the Rangers. Much has been made about the lack of offensive production from New York's defenseman, and while Miller hasn't found the score sheet often throughout the playoffs, he's done all the little things right. Keep an eye on Miller in today's pivotal contest.
Enjoy the game!
