AHL Establishes Framework for Season Start
There’s still a lot of work to be done, but the AHL has a start date.
The AHL Board of Governors announced this afternoon that the league has established a framework to begin the 2021 season on February 5th.

There are still a lot of details to work out such as which teams will participate and how they will go about playing each other. There is also the matter of how the AHL and NHL will work together given that NHL teams have a “taxi squad” of players for this upcoming season. Nevertheless, the AHL has a concrete start date and we will update you with those details as they emerge.
