Artemiy Panarin, Jacob Trouba, and Ryan Lindgren Will Miss Final Three Games of Season
The New York Rangers will be without three roster regulars for the remainder of the season, according to Head Coach David Quinn.
Panarin, along with Trouba and Lindgren, are done for the season, per #NYR Coach Quinn.

Panarin was injured last night vs. the Washington Capitals during an incident with Tom Wilson, and you can read more about that here.

Barring an offensive outburst in the final three games, Panarin will finish as the Rangers’ leading scorer for the second consecutive season with a line of 17-41-58 in 42 games. Panarin also finishes with a 1.38 points per game average, which is currently fourth in the NHL behind Nathan MacKinnon (1.41), Leon Draisaitl (1.46), and Connor McDavid (1.82). Panarin finished the season with a low penalty minutes per game rate, which suggests he could be a candidate for the league’s Lady Byng Trophy.
Artemi Panarin is the ninth player in NHL history who averaged at least 1.35 points per game and 0.15 or fewer penalty minutes per game in the same season (min. 40 games played); of the first eight who did so, six won the Lady Byng Trophy in that season. #NYR

Jacob Trouba last played against the New York Islanders on April 20 due to injury on this hit from Matt Martin.

Trouba had what can be considered a positive second season in New York and was a key mentor to many of the team’s young defenders. His absence from the lineup in recent games was notable, and here’s to hoping next season is more of the same from the veteran defender.
Ryan Lindgren was also injured against the Islanders, this time on April 29, when he went face first into a stanchion by the bench after a missed hit attempt on Cal Clutterbuck.

Lindgren also had a fine second “full season” in the league, and was certainly an unexpected bright spot of the 2020-21 season.
The Rangers square off against Washington on Wednesday before concluding its season with a pair of games against the Boston Bruins on Thursday and Saturday in Beantown. The loss of Panarin, Trouba, and Lindgren is certainly unfortunate, and the result will be an increase in playing time for youngsters like Zac Jones and Tarmo Reunanen on defense, and a number of rookies upfront like Vitali Kravtsov and Julien Gauthier at 5v5, with an opportunity on the power play open for someone like Kaapo Kakko or Alexis Lafrenière.
