Breaking News: New York Rangers Recall Carl Hagelin and John Mitchell
According to Andrew Gross, the New York Rangers have recalled forwards Carl Hagelin and John Mitchell from the Connecticut Whale. This move was likely done in anticipation that Andre Deveaux will be suspended, following his hearing from the NHL earlier this afternoon.
Of course if Hagelin is in the line-up, he will definitely add some needed speed to the Rangers line-up. This was an evident factor in the Rangers last two losses, the lack of speed. Meanwhile, John Mitchell is currently the leading scorer on the Whale with seven goals, and seven assists. He could end up helping the Rangers offensively if he is inserted into the line-up as well.
One noticeable player that was passed over was Mats Zuccarello. As I stated in my last article, this could be due to the salary restrictions that needed to be fixed in order to recall Zuccarello. With these recalls basically in place, it is all but certain that Andre Deveaux will be suspended for a length amount of time.
