Lemieux’s dirty hit on Donskoi could cost him
The NHL Department of Player Safety announced today that New York Rangers forward Brendan Lemieux will have a hearing for his late, high hit on Colorado Avalanche forward Joonas Donskoi.

Lemieux earned a two minute minor penalty for interference on the play in question, which occurred at the 17:08 mark of the third period in last night’s 3-2 overtime loss in Denver.

Earlier this season, on Dec. 8, 2019, Lemieux received a fine ($2,486.56) for elbowing Cody Glass of the Vegas Golden Knights. He currently leads the Rangers with 111 PIM in 59 games, which is the highest total earned by a Ranger since Derek Dorsett clocked in at 134 PIM in the 2013-14 season.
