Chris Drury is No Longer Screwing Around
Chris Drury is reportedly no longer interested in being patient with a team that doesn't seem to want to win. Good.

Like all New York Rangers news that comes from a national beat, Elliotte Friedman (and then Emily Kaplan) dropped the hammer Monday afternoon.
Strong reporting from Elliotte.

Followed up with calls to people around the Rangers. While this is stunning considering the team's .658 win percentage, the names mentioned leads everyone to believe this is message sending. "No one should feel complacent" in NY right now. https://t.co/UiylSvvOAZ
And then Vince chimed in with his own information.
I'll add this: I have spoken to two sources who added that the #NYR are motivated in their efforts to make a trade sooner than later - and, yes, Kreider and Trouba are the two names at the top of the for-sale list.

Whether they can pull it off is TBD.
And now we're here.
There is so much to unpack here, but I want to start with the top line item: The names included in this report.
I think it's a safe assumption (again, my assumption) that this information was supplied from inside the MSG walls. The national media generally speaking does not have a great grasp on Rangers' news and analysis, and it would be super odd for this specific information to come from outside the house.
That said, it makes the names super interesting. As I tweeted:
Trouba's inclusion in the rumor mill is interesting for a slew of reasons.

Mainly:
1) Nothing changed from the summer -- unless another team not on his NTC is suddenly a buyer.
2) This re-opens the emotions from the summer
but 3) from a business perspective, Trouba is…
If indeed this information did come from the Rangers (again, my speculation) then putting Trouba out there is remarkably interesting. Not only does it relitigate everything from this summer – which was a mess – but it once again opens up how the Rangers feel the leadership in the room is doing. Trouba's play aside, the Rangers have long had internal rumblings that Drury's methods have not been appreciated. And as I talked about this summer: Too fucking bad.
