Drury — who was reportedly vital in the acquisition presentation for Jimmy Vesey -- has been working with the team in various roles the past few years. The former captain will now reside in the front office, helping Gorton — although how big of a role remains to be seen.
We’ve seen former players excel in the player evaluation roles in the NHL, and Drury is no exception. Young enough to still have a footing on the current crop of players and also old enough to see the evolution in the game, the hope is Drury will bring a fresh perspective to a revamped front office.
What he thinks about the defense remains to be seen.
Thoughts on this guys?
