Chris Kreider is no longer on injured reserve, and he could make his return as soon as tonight against the Colorado Avalanche.

Head coach Peter Laviolette didn't say anything after practice about whether or not Kreider –or Filip Chytil for that matter– would be available tonight, but the demotion of Bo Groulx would hint that he's close.

Prior to the demotion, Groulx was one of the extra skaters towards the end of practice, and when you look at the players that joined him, I think it's safe to say Kreider will be playing.

He'd been placed on IR due to nagging injuries, and it has been clear that something's been off with him for most of this year. Kreider started the season off with 6 goals in 9 games in October, and followed that up with just 3 goals in 11 games in November along with 3 goals and an assist in 12 December contests.

The Rangers' alternate captain has appeared in just 2 games this month, and he's logged a goal and an assist while averaging 18:52 per game which is the highest he's logged all season.

The hope is that Kreider is truly feeling better and able to help the Rangers. Whether it be increasing his trade value to leave the organization, or putting up points as the Blueshirts try and push to make the playoffs remains to be seen.
