Chris Kreider named NHL’s second star of the week
The hat trick certainly helped!
The New York Rangers ended the final week of 2016 on a high note, winning all three of their games and outscoring their opponents by an aggregated 16-8.
A big part of that was Chris Kreider, who scored four goals - including a hat trick - and added an assist throughout the past three games, which has earned him second star of the week honors.
So far this season, Kreider has 15 goals and 29 points through 33 games, which is good for second on the team in scoring - even though he’s missed six games. He’s number one in goal scoring on the team now, too, and is tied for 14th in goals league-wide, and 36th in points - again, all with fewer games played than most of the competition.
Kreider’s final week of 2016 capped off the midpoint of what has definitely been a fantastic season for him, as he’s on pace for what could be the best season of his career: 35 goals, 67 points.
Here’s to hoping he can do it - but even if he can’t, this has been a great season so far!
