Coronavirus Update: NHL Releases Updated Player Guidelines for Paused Season
The NHL and NHLPA have told players they can head back home.
In the midst of a global pandemic; the NHL, along with the NBA and MLB and practically the entire sports world, has suspended their season and shut down all hockey activity for the foreseeable future. Players had to hunker down in the home cities of their teams (meaning the Rangers had to stay in the city or the surrounding area), now the NHL and NHLPA have told players that they can go home, which means young players like Kaapo Kakko and Filip Chytil can head back to Finland and the Czech Republic respectively among others. If they choose to go home, players must maintain a 14 day self-quarantine as per the WHO and CDC guidelines.

With some more thoughts from Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston and Elliotte Friedman:
Also: memo indicates: "Our objective will be that, in addition to continuing regular updates, we will be able to provide high-level guidance on potential of opening a training camp period roughly 45 days into the 60-day period covered by the CDC’s directive." https://t.co/i96v3Z2elZ
