David Quinn and assistant coaches unavailable for tonight’s game
Quinn, Martin, Oliver, and Brown all held out due to NHL COVID protocols and guidelines
Big news has hit the wires just a few hours before the New York Rangers 7:30 p.m. game against the Philadelphia Flyers. Rangers head coach David Quinn and Rangers assistant coaches Jacques Martin, David Oliver, and Greg Brown are all unavailable for tonight’s game due to the league’s COVID-19 protocols and health and safety guidelines.
That’s the entirety of the coaching staff that works behind the bench during games.

The Rangers will turn to the coaching staff of the team’s AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, and Wolf Pack general manager Chris Drury to coach the team tonight. Kris Knoblauch, the Wolf Pack’s bench boss, will serve as head coach. It should be noted here that Hartford has a game tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The Wolf Pack are currently 3-5-0 to start the AHL season.
This news comes just two days after Adam Fox, Pavel Buchnevich, and Phil Di Giuseppe were placed on the NHL’s COVID-19 list.
