Dylan McIlrath’s farewell to the New York Rangers
“Made memories that will last a lifetime,” he tweeted.
Since he was selected 10th overall in the 2010 NHL Draft, Dylan McIlrath has been a member of the New York Rangers organization - until Nov. 8, when he was unceremoniously traded to the Florida Panthers.
So, that’s that. Following being waived and subsequently clearing waivers, McIlrath’s days as a Ranger seemed numbered. He handled it in stride; the same can be said about his departure from the only NHL team he’d ever really known.
I'd like to thank the @NYRangers for giving me the opportunity to be a part of their first class organization!

I want to thank the fans, coaches and especially my teammates for an amazing 6 years! Made memories that will last a life time.

McIlrath has definitely handled himself with nothing but class throughout this, so it’s easy to wish the best of luck to him as his career continues, even though it’s now elsewhere.
