Former Ranger Dan Girardi Launches “The Block Party” Podcast
An aptly named podcast
Former New York Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi has become a podcaster.
Girardi, along with co-host Seth Cushner, have launched the “Block Party” podcast, which will be housed on the Tampa Bay Lightning’s team site.

As you might expect, the podcast will be Tampa Bay Lightning-centric. The first episode — which went live yesterday — was focused on Girardi’s decision to retire; you can listen to it here on Spotify. One would expect that there will be some Rangers-related nuggets along the way.
Girardi, who was undrafted and joined the Rangers as a free agent, played 788 career regular season games and 122 playoff games with the Rangers before his contract was bought out on June 14, 2017. He signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning as an unrestricted free agent in the 2017 offseason and played two seasons in Florida before announcing his retirement. He’s the NHL’s all-time leader in blocked shots (since the stat was first recorded).
