Game #10: Ottawa Senators vs New York Rangers Open Thread

After closing out October with arguably their worst showing of the season thus far, the Blueshirts have returned home and will look to bounce back tonight. Brady Tkachuk, Claude Giroux, and the rest of the Ottawa Senators are in town for the first of three matchups of the season series.

As tonight is New York's tenth game of the season, it will likely mark the final game before Jimmy Vesey is activated from long term injured reserve. A roster move will be required shortly thereafter, so one of the Rangers' depth forwards is likely skating in their final game with the big club for the time being.

Player to Watch: Alexis Lafreniere

While Lafreniere was the first overall pick of the 2020 Entry Draft, debate persists to this day about whether he was the best players from the class. Many would point to Ottawa's Tim Stutzle, the third overall pick of the draft class.

While Lafreniere took until his fourth season to break out and begin his ascent to stardom with a 57 point regular season and strong playoff performance, Stutzle notched 58 points in his second NHL season, and has been a point per game player over the last three seasons. Keep an eye on Lafreniere in what should be an action-packed matchup between Ottawa and New York.

Enjoy the game!
