Game #14: Winnipeg Jets vs New York Rangers Open Thread
Following a one game road swing into and out of Hockeytown, the Rangers have returned home to sit down for the toughest test any NHL team can face right now. The NHL-leading Winnipeg Jets are in town to provide Peter Laviolette's squad with a measuring stick game no team in league history as ever faced.
When Winnipeg defeated the Dallas Stars to improve to 14-1-0 on Saturday, it became the first team in NHL history to open a season with 14 wins in its 15 games. As such, the Blueshirts will face a test no team has ever faced before, and they'll be turning back to Igor Shesterkin. Even with Shesterkin's last outing resulting in a mid game pull and Jonathan Quick recording a shutout in New York's previous game, Shesterkin will get the nod tonight.
Player to Watch: Artemiy Panarin
If the Rangers are going to beat the NHL's top team tonight, they'll need their stars to play like stars. As New York's biggest star on a team with multiple, Panarin will need to provide some magic for the Blueshirts to hand the Jets their second loss of the season. Keep an eye on Panarin tonight.
Enjoy the game!
