Game #15: San Jose Sharks vs New York Rangers Open Thread
After taking a day to lick their wounds following Tuesday's defeat against the Winnipeg Jets, the Rangers will return to the ice in one of the more dramatic game-to-game swings a team will experience during the regular season.
The Blueshirts were unable to hang with the NHL-leading Winnipeg Jets, but they'll look to rebound against the cellar dwelling San Jose Sharks in what is shaping up to be the Barclay Goodrow revenge game. The former Ranger, who has made his feelings about the process in which he moved from New York to San Jose over the summer very clear, will be skating against his former team for the first time. While tonight will be the closest thing to a Stanley Cup game Goodrow will likely play in for the remainder of his contract, it's just one of 82 for the Blueshirts who are looking to get back in the win column.
Player to Watch: Mika Zibanejad
Much has been made of Zibanejad's early season struggles. Comments in the wake of Tuesday's loss, one that might have been Zibanejad's worst performance of his eight-plus seasons as a Ranger, revealed that the situation is wearing on New York's former top center. Zibanejad also briefly left the game with an injury, but later returned. Keep an eye on #93 in blue tonight as he and his teammates look to bounce back.
Enjoy the game!
