Game #17: New York Rangers vs Pittsburgh Penguins Open Thread
The Blueshirts are back in action for one final game before heading home for Thanksgiving tonight. After seeing their 11 game point streak come to an end in Dallas, the Rangers will look to bounce back in a Metropolitan Division clash against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
After two seasons of not running into the Penguins at all until February, the league schedule makers decided to match Pittsburgh and New York up in the early goings of the 2023-24 campaign. The Rangers and Penguins will only meet three times this season as opposed to the usual four meetings, and tonight’s contest will be the last these teams see of each other until the middle of March. A rough start to the season has left the Penguins with a middling 9-8-0 record as of now, but their +12 goal differential suggests there’s more than meets the eye than a mediocre team led by Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and friends.
Player to Watch: K’Andre Miller
The Rangers are set to play their 17th game of the season, and Miller hasn’t been listed as a player to watch as of yet. The smooth skating defenseman out of Wisconsin has had a quiet season thus far, but keep an eye on him tonight as the Rangers look to get back in the win column.
Enjoy the game!
