Game #31: New York Rangers vs Nashville Predators Open Thread
There's going to be a hockey game played at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville tonight, and it's one neither fanbase is too excited to watch. The New York Rangers are on the Broadway away from home to take on Brady Skjei, Steven Stamkos, and the rest of the 2024 off-season champion Nashville Predators.
After bowing out in the first round of the playoffs last spring, Nashville spent money in free agency like it had a hole burning through its pocket. Stamkos, Skjei, and Jonathan Marchessault headlined a star-filled crop of free agents that the Predators brought in over the summer. The on-ice results have not been up to snuff as Nashville enters tonight's action tied for dead last in the NHL. The Predators are 8-17-6, the only club yet to reach double digit wins. If there's any team the Rangers can use as a get right game, it's Nashville.
Player to Watch: Urho Vaakanainen
Arriving from the Anaheim Ducks injured, Vaakanainen is expected to make his Rangers' debut tonight. Skating on the third defensive pair alongside Chad Ruhwedel. Vaakanainen will don #18 for the Blueshirts, who will be wearing their road whites tonight, so keep an eye on Vaakanainen as he draws into the lineup for the first time as a Ranger.
Enjoy the game!
