Game #32: New York Rangers vs Dallas Stars Open Thread
Coming off the heels of a loss to the then-last place Nashville Predators, things aren't going to get any easier for the spiraling New York Rangers. The Blueshirts will wrap up their three-game road trip at American Airlines Arena against the Dallas Stars.
Even with tonight's contest being the final one of the road trip, it starts a grueling stretch of games for New York. The Stars represent the first of seven consecutive teams on the Rangers' schedule that are currently in playoff position. For a Blueshirts squad 3-11-0 on its last 14 games, including two losses to teams in 32nd place in the NHL at the time of the matchup, things could hit a rock bottom the residents of Rangerstown haven't seen in the salary cap era. A regulation loss would drop the Blueshirts under .500 for the first time this season.
Player to Watch: Ryan Lindgren
When a team does nothing but lose for the better part of a month, it's hard to highlight any player worth keeping an eye on. Ryan Lindgren has had a rough season since returning from a jaw injury he suffered during the pre-season. The rugged defenseman has bounced up and down the lineup since his return, but has primarily played alongside his usual partner Adam Fox. Keep an eye on Lindgren tonight as he and his teammates look to hold down the Stars offense.
Enjoy the game!
