Game #4: Nashville Predators vs New York Rangers Open Thread
The Blueshirts are set to hit the ice for their final home game before a five game road trip out west that’ll see them visit Seattle before playing the Western Conference’s Canadian teams. For tonight, the Nashville Predators will be the opponent as Peter Laviolette’s squad looks to build momentum following their Monday night win over Arizona.
Igor Shesterkin appears set to start tonight’s contest, which means Jonathan Quick’s Broadway debut will likely happen at some point on the upcoming road trip. After splitting last year’s season series with the Predators, a two game set that saw both teams successfully defend home ice, the Rangers will look to once again earn two points and send the attending residents of Rangerstown home happy for the final home game of October.
Player to Watch: Chris Kreider
Having found the back of the net in each of the first three games of the season, Kreider has continued the mid career goal scoring renaissance that began two seasons ago. After topping out at 28 goals in a season through the first nine years of his career, Kreider scored 52 goals during the 2021-22 campaign, and followed that up with a 36 goal effort last season. Currently on pace for 109 goals this year, expecting Kreider to keep up that pace may be a tall task. While he may not score over 100 goals this season, keep an eye on Kreider as he looks to continue his hot start.
Enjoy the game!
