Game #5: New York Rangers vs Seattle Kraken Open Thread
The Blueshirts have begun the 2023-24 campaign with a pair of up and down efforts on the road, and a pair of up and down efforts at home. Tonight, Peter Laviolette’s squad kick off their longest road trip of the season, a five game western swing that will begin against the NHL’s newest franchise, the Seattle Kraken.
The remainder of the road trip will be played north of the border with four consecutive games against Canada’s Western Conference teams, but tonight’s action will take place in the U.S. of A. as the Rangers look to fend of Jordan Eberle, Oliver Bjorkstrand, and the rest of Dave Hakstol’s group.
Player to Watch: Jonathan Quick
After unexpectedly making his Rangers’ debut Thursday night in relief of Igor Shesterkin, Quick will be making his first start for New York tonight. Coming off of a rough preseason showing that had some residents of Rangerstown call for either Louis Domingue or Dylan Garand to begin the season as Shesterkin’s top understudy, Quick was sharp coming off the bench cold when called upon. Keep an eye on Quick as he makes the start for his boyhood team tonight.
Enjoy the game!
