The Rangers find themselves in a familiar position as they prepare to take the ice tonight.

Entering play against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, New York was tied with Ottawa in points for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, but trailed in the standings on account of having played one more game than Ottawa.

Entering play against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday, New York is tied with Columbus in points for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, but trails in the standings on account of having played one more game than Columbus.

Saturday's game resulted in one of the Rangers' most disappointing losses of the season as a 3-1 lead in the third period vanished before the Senators pulled out the win in overtime. The Blueshirts have returned home from Ottawa with one less point than they should have earned, but they'll have to put Saturday's loss behind them and buckle down for a crucial Metropolitan Division matchup tonight.

Player to Watch: Carson Soucy

Acquired from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for the third-round pick the Rangers received from Vegas for Reilly Smith, Soucy made his team debut on Saturday. While the Blueshirts had a disappointing ending to that game, Soucy did find the back of the net in his first game as a Ranger. As the Rangers return home for this home game against Columbus, Soucy is set to make his Broadway debut tonight. Keep an eye on #24 in blue tonight as New York looks to re-insert itself into the playoff picture with a win.

Enjoy the game!
