Game #71: Vancouver Canucks vs New York Rangers Open Thread

After dropping the first three-games of this all-Canadian opponent homestand, the Blueshirits will have one more opportunity to try and salvage things before hitting the road for California.
It's a Saturday matinee at Madison Square Garden as the Rangers host the Vancouver Canucks in a rematch of the 1994 Stanley Cup Final. As Peter Laviolette's squad continues its descent down the Eastern Conference standings and further away from the playoffs picture, it will look to get back on track against a similarly desperate Vancouver time scratching and clawing for a wild card spot in the Western Conference.
While J.T. Miller and Carson Soucy will square off against their old team for the first time since being traded to the Rangers earlier this season, Filip Chytil Will not be making his return to Broadway today. Chytil is not traveling with the Canucks on their road trip due to suffering another concussion.
Player to Watch: J.T. Miller
It was going to be one of the former Canucks, but Miller gets the nod over Soucy here. Prior to returning to New York, Miller spent parts of six seasons in Vancouver and had emerged as a fan favorite of the Canucks. A hot start for Miller has given way to a bit of a scoring drought, as the Miller enters play having not scored a goal in his previous nine games while only tallying four assists. Keep an eye on Miller as he looks to bust out of his slump and end New York's homestand on a high note with a victory this afternoon.
Enjoy the game!
