Game #76: New York Rangers vs Buffalo Sabres Open Thread
After a deflating defeat at the hands of their Hudson River rivals last night, the Blueshirts will need so put that game in the rear view mirror and focus on tonight's opponent. Gerard Gallant's squad will be making its final visit upstate to Buffalo of the 2022-23 campaign to square off with the Buffalo Sabres.
The Rangers and Sabres last met on March 11th, a game that saw the Rangers eek out a 2-1 overtime victory on a night where they didn't bring their best but still managed to earn a critical two points. Although last night's defeat against New Jersey put a major dent in the team's hopes of moving up in the divisional standings, the Blueshirts aren't mathematically locked into third place yet, so every point they can pile up is still worth pursuing.
