Game #9: New York Rangers vs Winnipeg Jets Open Thread
After sweeping western Canada, the Rangers are set to conclude their ongoing road trip tonight.
Winnipeg, Manitoba is the of tonight’s game between the Rangers and Jets. While another two points is the objective the players will primarily be focused on, there’s an opportunity to make some history tonight. A win will give them a perfect 5-0-0 record in this road trip, and would mark the first time in franchise history the Blueshirts swept a road trip of five or more games.
The Rangers lost in Winnipeg last season, an early October game that saw them being on the wrong end of the Jets’ home opener. While a slice of New York’s fanbase may have been rooting for the Jets yesterday afternoon, it’ll be all Rangers tonight.
Player to Watch: Chris Kreider
As one of the Rangers’ most prolific goal scorers over the past two seasons, it’s not exactly going out on a limb to suggest Kreider will have a strong performance tonight. However, Kreider seems to find the back of the net most of the time the Blueshirts make their way up to Winnipeg, and it usually comes on a breakaway. Keep an eye on Kreider as the Rangers look to complete a sweep of their longest road trip of the season.
Enjoy the game!
