Game Thread: New York Rangers vs Vancouver Canucks
Can the Rangers keep the point streak alive tonight at MSG?
The New York Rangers are looking to keep their point streak alive. Tonight, the Blueshirts are hosting the Vancouver Canucks (10-6-2), the top team in the Pacific Division. If the Rangers come away with a win, an overtime loss, or a shootout loss, they will have picked up points in seven straight games.
The Canucks come into the Garden with a 5-4-2 record on the road and a 5-3-2 record in their last 10 games. Despite their solid record, Vancouver has a 46.48 CF% and their special teams are right in the middle of the pack. Rookie forward Elias Pettersson has 10 goals in his first 12 games and is leading the Canucks in points.
Jacob Markstrom will be in net for the Canucks. He’s posted an .898 save percentage thus far this season and has a record of 7-3-2.
Injury Report
- Mats Zuccarello (day-to-day, groin)
- Pavel Buchnevich (4-6 weeks, broken thumb)
- Adam McQuaid (week-to-week, lower body)/
Looks like Spooner slots in for Buchnevich on the first line. 90-93-23. Second and third remain same — 20-13-50, and 26-21-17, and fourth is 8-72-95. Seven D rotating in, so hard to tell if there are changes there. We talk to DQ after.
