Marek Hrivik and Nicklas Jensen cleared waivers yesterday.
Forwards (14): Pavel Buchnevich, Jesper Fast, Michael Grabner, Kevin Hayes, Josh Jooris, Chris Kreider, Oscar Lindberg, J.T. Miller, Rick Nash, Brandon Pirri, Derek Stepan, Jimmy Vesey, Mika Zibanejad, Mats Zuccarello
Defensemen (8): Adam Clendening, Dan Girardi, Nick Holden, Kevin Klein, Ryan McDonagh, Dylan McIlrath, Brady Skjei, Marc Staal
Goaltenders (2): Henrik Lundqvist, Antti Raanta
We can expect Lindberg to start the season on the LTIR which brings the Rangers’ roster down to 23 players.
The big news here is Tanner Glass and Nathan Gerbe being assigned to the AHL. There were reports that Gerbe might have an out-clause to play in the Swiss League, so we will have to keep an eye on that. He has a one-year, $600,000 contract.
Glass has one year left on his contract and carries a cap hit of $1,450,000. The 32-year-old played 17 games in the AHL last season and 57 games with the Rangers.
It appears that the Rangers will have a fourth line that can score some goals after all.
