Hartford Wolf Pack Sign Goaltender Conor McCollum to PTO
The move comes as Wolf Pack goaltenders Louis Domingue and Dylan Garand are out for tonight’s game against Springfield.
The Wolf Pack announced a head-scratching move today. Talyn Boyko was just recalled, prompting many to think Garand or Domingue were injured, but with this news of adding yet another goalie to the mix, folks are unsure what is happening in Connecticut's capital city.
There could be a few scenarios in play here. One is this move signaled a more significant move on the horizon for the Rangers, such as Garand or Quick being shipped out. Two, an injury on the Rangers or Wolf Pack has not been announced yet. Last but not least, the Rangers/Wolf Pack signed a local kid they've had their eye on for a little bit in an attempt at some good publicity. Saying things have not been great for this organization is an understatement, so the team could be doing whatever they can to generate a positive story.
McCollum has been serviceable for the Danbury Hat Tricks. His record and stats were far better last season, but after reviewing the team's record, it's clear that this year, their play has suffered for a variety of reasons.
In other news, it's been announced that both Garand and Domingue will be out for the Wolf Pack tonight. This means McCollum could see some actual playing time, and this move was out of necessity. We'll be sure to learn more tonight as the Wolf Pack take on the Springfield Thunderbirds.
