Henrik Lundqvist to play for Sweden at 2019 Worlds
Zibanejad and Fast are out due to injuries
Today, Henrik Lundqvist was named to Sweden’s national team roster for the 2019 IIHF World Championship in Slovakia.
Lundqvist, who turned 37 early last month, posted a .907 save percentage in 52 starts in the 2018-19 season. The face of the Rangers franchise won a gold medal with Sweden at the 2017 Worlds and won silver at the 2003 and 2004 Worlds.

Both Mika Zibanejad and Jesper Fast were invited to play for Sweden, but declined the invite due to injuries. Fredrik Claesson and Lias Andersson have also been invited to the national team ahead of the tournament which begins on May 10.
Sweden will play its first game of the tournament against the Czech Republic.
