Igor Shesterkin Returns Tomorrow Against Philadelphia

Acting Head Coach Kris Knoblauch announced this morning that the Russian netminder will start tomorrow

Acting Head Coach Kris Knoblauch announced this morning that Igor Shesterkin is back and will start for the New York Rangers tomorrow against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Shesterkin injured himself in the 3rd period of a 6-1 win against the New Jersey Devils on March 4th, the Rangers kept the Russian netminder’s status as day to day for almost two weeks as backup goalies Alexandar Georgiev and Keith Kinkaid held the crease until Shesterkin was ready to go. During the ten games Shesterkin missed, the Rangers went 5-4-1 with Georgiev and Kinkaid splitting the net.

The Rangers also saw Vitali Kravtsov practice with the team this morning but his highly anticipated debut will have to wait just a little bit longer according to Knoblauch.
