Igor Shestyorkin suffers concussion in KHL preseason game
Rangers goaltending prospect Igor Shestyorkin has reportedly suffered a concussion playing in a KHL preseason game.

The good news is that it is reportedly not a serious concussion- from Marsel’ Magizov:
С Шестеркиным не так все плохо кстати. В Сочи больше не сыграет, но к Питеру восстановится

(Translated: “With Šesterkinym not so bad at all BTW. No longer will play in Sochi, but Peter is restored”)
Shestyorkin was drafted by the Rangers in the 4th round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He is considered by many to be the Rangers’ top goaltending prospect. He put up silly numbers in the VHL last season for SKA-Neva St. Petersburg. The VHL (also known as the Supreme League) is the second-highest level of Russian hockey.
The 20 year old goaltender was key to Russia’s silver medal win in the 2015 U20 World Championship.
Shestyorkin (aka Shesterkin) was hoping to challenge for the starting role on SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL this season. This injury will obviously be a setback in that pursuit.
