Jonny Brodzinski Recalled from Hartford Wolf Pack
The New York Rangers have recalled forward Jonny Brodzinski from the Hartford Wolf Pack, and this move likely confirms that Filip Chytil will not be playing in the team’s next game in Minnesota vs. the Wild.
Brodzinski has had an incredible start to the season with the Wolf Pack, and has scored 6 goals and added 5 assists for 11 points in 7 games. Last season he tallied 48 points (21 goals and 27 assists) in 47 games with the Pack, and he posted a 1-1-2 line in 17 games at the NHL level with the Rangers.
In terms of roster construction, if Chytil is officially unable to go, I’d expect Vincent Trocheck to occupy the 2nd line center spot he took on Thursday, and Barclay Goodrow will move up to the 3rd line with Brodzinski settling in over Tyler Pitlick on the 4th line. Hopefully Chytil is able to return to the lineup soon, but in the meantime Brodzinski is a decent addition as a player who just missed the cut during the preseason.
