It will be very interesting to see how young centers Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier adapt to Lindy Ruff’s style and tactics and will definitely add some more fuel to the Devils/Rangers rivalry. As for the Rangers, head coach David Quinn now has a big spot to fill in this coaching staff as Ruff was primarily responsible for the team’s defensive and penalty kill schemes. For now, at least, it looks like the Blueshirts are promoting from within as Hartford Wolf Pack head coach Gord Murphy is getting called up to fill Ruff’s spot on the bench effective immediately.
Lindy Ruff will be leaving the Rangers effective immediately. Gord Murphy will be coming up from Hartford to fill the vacancy on the Rangers' bench.
