Morgan Barron is One of Ten Finalists for 2020 Hobey Baker

New York Rangers center prospect Morgan Barron is a Top-10 finalist for the 2020 Hobey Baker Memorial Award as the best player in college hockey. Barron, who is currently a junior at Cornell University, was the 174th pick of the 2017 Draft and turns 22 on Dec. 21, 2020.

Barron had 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 29 games this season for the Big Red. He averaged 3.55 SOG/GP and 12 of his 18 assists were primary. Barron is tied for sixth in scoring in the ECAC this year, but is the only player from an ECAC school among the 10 finalists for the 2020 Hobey Baker.

This year, he became the first Cornell player since Joe Nieuwendyk to be named All-ECAC Hockey first team. Barron has led the Big Red in scoring in each of the last two seasons. He is also one of three finalists for the ECAC Player of the Year.

The three finalists for the 2020 Hobey Baker Memorial Award ā€” the Hobey Hat Trick ā€” will be announced on Apr. 2 and the winner of the award will be announced on Apr. 10.
