The New York Rangers 7th overall pick of the 2017 Draft, Lias Andersson, has been loaned to Frolunda of the SHL. Also leaving the Rangers training camp roster are Neal Pionk, Cristoval Nieves, Vinni Lettieri and Ryan Graves. Matt Puempel will be placed on waivers at noon and Bobby Farnham has been released from his PTO.
Filip Chytil, Andrew Desjardins, Tony DeAngelo, Paul Carey, Steven Kampfer and Nick Holden are still with the team. Kampfer, Carey and Holden would all have to go through waivers before being assigned to Hartford.
With this roster the Rangers currently are carrying 13 forwards and 8 defensemen, not including Jesper Fast who is expected to start the season on the IR.
Speaking of Chytil:

So it looks like Chytil beat out Andersson for a chance to start the season with the Rangers. The 18-year-old rookie had a game-winning overtime goal in the preseason in addition to two assists. The language barrier hurt him on the faceoff dot with the NHL’s new, stricter policy, but Chytil looked great when the puck was moving.
The Rangers practiced today with Chytil on the second line centering Rick Nash and Mats Zuccarello and Kevin Hayes on the third line with Michael Grabner and J.T. Miller. Clearly, Chytil has turned a lot of heads in the front office.
